Community Outreach

Subspecialty medical care is expensive.  There is a great need for availability of rheumatology services for the uninsured and underinsured in Austin.  Such resources are available.  As a physician and as citizens of this great community Dr. Sayers and his staff feel it important to give back to the community that has given so much to us.  In recognition of this Dr. Sayers provides free services to those in need of rheumatology care on a case by case basis in his office and through the following organizations:

  • Volunteer Healthcare Clinic
  • Seton Community Clinics
  • Project Access
  • El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission
  • People's Community Clinic

If you are in need of rheumatology services but do not have the financial means to obtain them, contact us and we will direct you to the appropriate community resource that we or one of our colleagues participates in.

Dr. Sayers' non-medical volunteer activities have included:

  • Ministry of Challenge, a faith-based residential drug rehabilitation center in East Austin- Weekly Bible Study Leader
  • Texas Reach Out, transitional housing for recently incarcerated men- Weekly Bible Study Leader
