Dr. Sayers is a native Austinite who attended Austin High, U.T. Austin, U.T. Southwestern Medical School at Dallas and the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest. He is married with three children.
He is past president of the Travis County Medical Society and was named Physician of the Year for that organization in 2017. Dr. Sayers is founder of the Travis County Medical Society Physician Wellness Program and Safe Harbor Counseling Program. He serves as chair of the TCMS Physician Health and Rehabilitation Committee.
Dr. Sayers has been named by his peers as both a 'Castle Connolly Top Doctor' and a Texas Monthly 'SuperDoctor' for over 20 consecutive years.
